The Allotment Plotment Offered and Accepted.

MY PLOT BEFORE WORK COMMENCEMENT.
After being on two different local council allotment garden lists, both quoted as having at least a two year thumb twiddle, I was very pleased to receive an invitation to view a vacant plot on one site after only eighteen months or so.
I readily snapped up the offer, so am now an official Allotmenteer. Yippee!

The opportunity arose when the allotment community of Stoke Road allotment gardens in Taunton took over the managerial reins from the local town council for an annual lease fee and formed the Stoke Road, Taunton, Allotment Association, which has resulted in a better organised, more professional system. This is yet another prime example of communities taking back control of local assets and making improvements so they are more personal and relative to the users.
